BEIJING • The iPhone 7 is probably the trendiest thing right now, and the son of China's richest man is making sure his dog doesn't miss out.

Mr Wang Sicong, the 28-year-old son of billionaire and property mogul Wang Jianlin, bought eight iPhone 7s for his pet husky.

To top it off, he posted pictures of the stash on his dog's very own Weibo account.

"Not sure what people are showing off on social media about. What's the point to show off? Should I do something?", the dog, named Wang Keke or Coco, apparently muses to itself, according to a caption tagged to pictures of it with eight brand-new iPhones.

Prices of the iPhone 7 range from 5,388 yuan (S$1,100) to 6,988 yuan.

Keke is a star pet among Chinese Internet users and its Sina Weibo followers exceed 1.9 million. It is often pictured with designer accessories. Many people commented on the photos, with some saying "we can't even hold a candle to a dog".

Last year, Mr Wang Sicong showed a picture of Keke with two Apple Watches which cost more than 100,000 yuan, sparking a heated debate.

As most of the followers are used to this sort of showing off, the majority commented under the picture of Keke with the iPhones: "Is there going to be a lucky draw?"
