Ear piercing becomes a rescue job for firefighters when tool jams in Shenzhen man's ear

Having his ear pierced went awry for one Chinese man when the piercing machine jammed and became stuck in his ear, the South China Morning Post reported.

Citing the Shenzhen Evening News, the Hong Kong newspaper said that hospital doctors were unable to remove the tool from the ear of the man from the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, and he was against surgical incisions in his earlobe.

Instead, firefighters had to use screwdrivers and clamps to free the man's ear from the piercing gun.

Chinese media said that the man required medication to fight off infection, and that he no longer wanted to get his ears pierced.
