TAIPEI - Taiwan's Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday (Jan 13) it was regrettable that United States Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft had to cancel at the last minute her visit to the island, in compliance with the US State Department's latest travel order.

But the ministry "understands and respects the decision of the State Department", it said in a statement. "We still welcome her to visit Taiwan at an appropriate time in the future."
