HK govt threatens to act against new party

HONG KONG • The Hong Kong government has threatened to "take action" against a new independence party which said yesterday it had been blocked from registering for political reasons.

The Hong Kong National Party, launched on Monday, said it is tapping the city's increasing desire to break away from the mainland.

Vivian Balakrishnan on work trip to Sabah

Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan will begin a three-day working visit to Sabah today, when he will be hosted to lunch by his counterpart, Datuk Seri Anifah Aman. He will also meet top officials, including the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman, said the Foreign Ministry.
