WASHINGTON - China's President Xi Jinping, and the Communist Party of China (CCP) have hitched their legitimacy and credibility to eradicating absolute poverty in China.

And on Nov 23, Guizhou province announced that its last nine impoverished counties had been lifted out of poverty - officially marking the end of absolute poverty in China.
