During an event at Australia's Parliament House this week to promote ties with China, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull gave a glowing assessment of relations with Beijing and blamed the media and his political opponents for "negativity".

"I'm filled with optimism about the relationship," he told the Australia China Business Council.
