Uber driver in India jailed for life for rape

NEW DELHI • An Indian court jailed a driver of US-based ride-hailing company Uber for life yesterday for raping a passenger.

Driver Shiv Kumar Yadav was found guilty last month of the rape, kidnapping and criminal intimidation of the woman in Delhi last December.

Murder of AmBank founder: Case closed

KUALA LUMPUR • Malaysian police have closed the murder case of AmBank Group founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi as investigations have been completed, Bernama reported yesterday.

A local businessman who was detained at KL International Airport on Oct 15 was released after the police found no evidence to charge him.
