Thailand blacks out anti-junta TV channel
BANGKOK • The Thai authorities have ordered an anti-junta television channel to stop broadcasting.
A 30-day blackout was ordered on Peace TV. The National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission accused it of "reporting information that caused confusion, provocation, incited conflict and caused divisiveness".

Ex-Philippine leader Arroyo released
MANILA • Former Philippine president Gloria Arroyo has been released from detention after the Supreme Court dismissed her graft charges, her lawyer said. A convoy carrying Ms Arroyo was seen leaving a military hospital near Manila yesterday.

Chinese firm fined $4.5m for pollution
BEIJING • A Chinese environmental group has won a landmark lawsuit against a glass manufacturer.
Jinghua Group Zhenhua Decoration Glass, based in Shandong province, was fined nearly 22 million yuan (S$4.5 million) for its surplus emission of pollutants, said the city's Intermediate People's Court.
