Najib to give statement about funds soon

KUALA LUMPUR • Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said yesterday he will give a statement to the anti-graft agency soon over funds worth RM2.6 billion (S$849 million) that were transferred into his bank accounts.

Mr Najib denies wrongdoing or taking any money for personal gain.

China plans to push use of bicycles by 2020

BEIJING • Beijing is eager to increase the proportion of commuters who use bikes from 12 to 18 per cent by 2020 according to city transportation officials.

The move is part of Beijing's pledge to promote "green commutes" as it combats air pollution and traffic congestion.
