WASHINGTON - A HISTORIC presidential race got under way in the United States yesterday with one intriguing contest - between Democratic senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama - turning into a cliffhanger likely to end with no outright winner.
AMERICANS in 24 of the 50 states and American Samoa began voting yesterday in the largest single day of balloting in the history of presidential primaries.
SENATOR Hillary Clinton appeared to choke up with tears for a second time during her campaign, the show of emotion coinciding with the eve of another important vote in the race to the US White House.
