Publication paper: The Straits Times

Publication date: 9 November 2009, Mon

Mohammad Shariff Abdullah, 41, was one of over 10,000 runners who took part in the New Balance Real Run yesterday.

The amputee completed the 15km race in 1hr 53min, and has now set his sights on two marathons (Penang Bridge and Standard Chartered) this year.

National triathlete Mok Ying Ren won the 15km Men's Open in 50:20. The 15km Women's Open was won by Australian Anna Thompson in 53:42.

The run, the only race in Singapore that takes place on four types of terrain - road, sand, trail and taxiway - raised $20,000 for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.
