Cerebos to hold charity sale for ST Pocket Money Fund
Publication paper: The Business Times Weekend

Publication date: 12-13 September 09, Sat-Sun

HEALTH tonic and supplements maker Cerebos Pacific will be organising a charity sale on Sept 16 and 17 in aid of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF).

The sale will see the company sell its Brand's products at discounted prices, with all proceeds going to the fund. It will be held from 11am to 7pm on both days at China Square Central, Nankin Mall.

The STSPMF gives spending money to needy schoolchildren, and its target of $5.7 million this year marks a 30 per cent increase from last year's target. It is also the highest target since the fund's inception.

Cerebos hopes to raise more than the $14,000 the sale raised last year.

Said its chief executive Eiji Koike: "In this global economic slowdown, the fund needs to raise $5.7 million this year for more than 11,000 children who cannot afford to buy food at recess."

The STSPMF is seeing a slow stream of donations this year, as donors to the fund have been giving less because of the economic downturn. In the first six months of the year, the fund has only managed to raise $1.6 million.
