Get involved: Auctions, cupcake sale in aid of ST fund
Publication paper: The Straits Times

Publication date: 5 September 09, Sat

ANG Mo Kio Hub has started a fund-raising drive for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund to mark the shopping mall's second anniversary.

It aims to raise $20,000 via two auctions and the sale of cupcakes from a 3m-tall tower made with 2,000 cupcakes.

The mall hopes that the cupcake tower will be the largest one here. After the Singapore Book of Records verifies that it is a record, shoppers may buy the cupcakes with a donation to the fund. Those keen to demonstrate their creative flair may - with a donation of $2 - decorate their own pair of cupcakes.

In the auctions to be held today and next Saturday, electronic goods and jewellery will go on the block, with bids starting at $2.

All proceeds will go towards the fund, which was also the beneficiary of a separate event organised by the car brand Mini. The brand, which turned 50 last weekend, raised $14,280 through activities held at Clarke Quay.
