Helping hand for ST fund
Publication date: 25 July 09, Sat

SEVERAL corporations here have contributed to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund by bulk-buying boxes of Beautex tissue paper.

The tissue paper maker has pledged to give 20 cents to the fund, which helps needy school children, for every five-box pack of its tissues sold.

Companies like Neptune Orient Lines, Cerebos Pacific, 3M Singapore and Sharp Electronics each bought over 100 packs.

Money will continue to be raised through the sale of special-edition boxes of Beautex at iEcon outlets, leading supermarkets and hypermarkets until next month.

The packaging for these special-edition packs features the winning designs of a an art competition Beautex organised, along the theme Life is Beautiful.
