Funds for needy kids
Publication date: 7 March 09, Sat
A carnival held in April last year by the Singapore Chinese Girls' School raised $200,000 for needy children.

The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund received $59,253.50 of the money raised on Thursday. The school's principal, Mrs Low Ay Nar, and head prefect Kristen Tan, 15, presented the cheque to Mr Peter Khoo, organising chairman of the fund.

The rest of the money went to the school's own building fund and The Darfur Project, an international organisation which gets medical supplies to children.
