KOPITIAM at Hougang Mall is ground zero for Madam Leow Siew Eng.

The 47-year-old has been working as a cleaner at the foodcourt for more than a year, dealing daily with the dirty food habits of some of its patrons.

Cleaning up outside should not be any different from picking up after yourself at home, she says.

When told of the Goodness Gracious Me! project to get people to return used trays, Madam Leow was ready to jump on board.

'It may not be easy to implement, but you won't know until you try,' she says.

To do her part, Madam Leow will keep a daily log - a tell-all on the dirty practices of foodcourt regulars.
