OCA honours DPM Teo and Ng

DEPUTY Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean and chairman of the Singapore Asian Youth Games Steering Committee Ng Ser Miang have both received the Olympic Council of Asia's Award of Merit.

The awards were presented to Mr Teo, who is also the Singapore National Olympic Council president, and Ng for their contributions to sport and their roles in the inaugural AYG.

OCA president Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah (above, with Mr Teo) presented the awards yesterday during the OCA General Assembly. He also praised Singapore for hosting what has been a successful Games.

Korea's Jangmi way ahead of the field

SOUTH Korean Kim Jangmi won the girls' 10m air pistol yesterday with a total score of 480.7, 4.4 points ahead of China's Zhang Lei.

Fellow Korean Bae Yuin was third, a further 0.3 point behind. Singapore's Carene Loo and Teh Xiu Hong were ninth and 13th respectively.

Tickets for bowling, basketball all sold

TICKETS for the bowling and basketball events are sold out.

But they are still available for the swimming, beach volleyball, football, sailing, shooting (limited) and table tennis events.
