Really, do people like junk mail?
LAST Wednesday's Online Forum letter, 'SingPost clarifies distribution of admail', is cold comfort to HDB dwellers like me who are inundated daily with unwanted, unsolicited admail which end up either on the floor next to our mailboxes or in the nearby trash bin.

In her reply to a letter, SingPost's Ms Tay Poh Choo stated that SingPost has 'received feedback that this admail is appreciated... by the recipients'. Did SingPost determine this finding through a survey of residents and, if so, what percentage of residents appreciates such admail?

From the amount of discarded admail, it is clear that many do not appreciate the service.

I have sealed the opening in my mailbox to ensure I do not receive unsolicited mail from tuition teachers, property agents and electrical and plumbing companies just to mention a few. But I am still flooded with admail.

SingPost should distribute only booklets sent out by the Government, quasi-government bodies and the town council. These are usually read by residents.
