14 pools have lane swimming so far
WE REFER to Tuesday's feedback 'Crowded swimming pool a hazard to learners' by Mr Anders Lee Wei in The Straits Times.

We thank Mr Lee and agree that lane swimming, or having separate lanes for learners and regular swimmers, would help to create a safer environment for everyone at our pools.

In our continuing efforts to balance the needs of the various groups of swimmers, the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) has progressively implemented the concept of lane swimming at our pools.

To date, 14 of SSC's pools have this system in place. This system will also be introduced to Serangoon Swimming Complex next month.

We assure Mr Lee that the SSC will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that the public continues to have an enjoyable and safe experience at our facilities.
