CPF JURONG EAST
'They not only served me well but also did it with little fanfare and a lot of friendly courtesy.'
Mr ELVIN WOO: 'I commend the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board for being a pro-active, customer-oriented organisation. Last Friday afternoon, I went to CPF Board in Jurong East to make some enquiries. I was dismayed when I received my queue number and was told that I would have to wait for at least an hour before I would be served. But I was very surprised when a 'roving' officer, Ms Shida Sidek, came to me, asked about my concerns and answered my queries promptly and professionally. Within 20 minutes, I had got all my queries answered and I left the place with a very pleasant feeling. The roving officers extended their patience and professionalism to all others, including an elderly woman who couldn't understand English.'
AIRPORT AND BEDOK POLICE
'They make Singapore safe and make me feel proud to be a Singaporean.'
Mr Lin Koon Chi: 'Some months ago I was cheated out of cash by two foreigners at Changi Airport. My thanks to woman Inspector Wong, Staff Sgt Andrew Wong and their colleagues at Changi Airport Police and Bedok Police stations for catching the two foreigners who cheated me of the cash. Staff Sgt Wong and his colleague also came to my company in Jurong to return me the money last week.'
INDIAN WOK, SIGLAP CENTRE
'I would like to thank Mr Lingam and his staff for making our daughter and us very happy that day.''
Mrs Sweta Agarwal: 'I have lived here for four years and each day I am happy to be here - simply because of its people and the service they provide. To celebrate our daughter's birthday, my husband and I went to the 'Indian Wok' restaurant in Siglap Centre. I told the manager, Mr Lingam, that as it was our daughter's birthday, I would like a particular dish. Though it was not on the menu, he got it prepared specially for her. He and his staff also served her a bowl of ice-cream with a candle and sang her the birthday song. This made her special day even more special.'
NEA AND OTHER MOZZIE BUSTERS
'Thank you, NEA officers, contract workers and volunteers who put yourselves in harm's way.'
Mrs Gail Sethi: 'In the light of the current dengue crisis, I would like to say a big thank you to the NEA officers, contract workers and volunteers who put themselves in harm's way every day. Two days ago, an officer at Compassvale Bow diligently peered into drains to check for mosquito larvae.'
