SOME barbers still use non-disposable blades. They are quaint relics of the past, but burgeoning diseases have no regard for antiquated hygiene practices.
I am concerned about blood-borne viral diseases such as hepatitis C.
The risk of contraction may be small, given the known local prevalence. But, as we open our economy to more migrant workers who need haircuts, should we not take into account the health statistics that accompany them?
In addition to widespread education, I hope we can also outlaw non-disposable blades.
