Warden rides against traffic flow
ON SATURDAY at 9.45am, I was at a carpark close to Block 265, Serangoon Avenue 3. This carpark is fed by a one-way road.

I was trying to find a spot to park my car when a traffic warden riding a motorbike came from the opposite direction. I stopped my car, intending to tell the warden he was going against the flow of traffic just to issue summonses.

When I approached him and told him so, he ignored me. At this point, he was about to place a summons on a car when the owner turned up and drove the vehicle away.

I thought that that would be the end of the story. But what the traffic warden did next surprised me further. He continued to go against the flow of traffic to check on other cars.

I went up to him again and asked if the motor bike belonged to him or the company he was working for. He informed me that it belonged to his company. When I asked him for the company's name, he asked me why he should tell me and said that there was no need for me to know. Then he rode off.

I know he was doing his job but could he not have parked his motorcycle in a lot, then walk to the cars to issue the summonses? Isn't it dangerous to ride against the flow of traffic? Lastly, why could he not tell me which company he was working for? Is it a secret?
