Jam at Causeway? He finds it a breeze now
I AM a regular commuter to Johor Baru and usually drive there between 5.30pm and 8.30pm on weekdays and at irregular hours on weekends.

Before the Mas Selamat fiasco, it took me about an hour from Woodlands Centre Road to reach Johor Baru during peak hours, that is, from 5pm to 8pm on weekdays and Saturdays.

During the first few days of the manhunt, the jam at the Causeway was horrendous. It took three to four hours to cross.

But in the past week, travelling time to Johor Baru appears to have reverted to normal. Crossing the Causeway last Sunday was a breeze. This could be because many Singaporeans were put off by reports of the long queues at the Causeway.

They could have opted to stay home instead of driving across.

We should commend the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration and Checkpoints Authority for the better security and a job well done.

After all, the jam at the Causeway is a routine matter, regardless of whether there is a lockdown.
