TV joke not meant to offend
I REFER to Mr Selvakumar Prakasam's letter last Saturday, 'That Monday night joke on Channel U'.

The segment appeared on S-Pop Hurray, Channel U's platform to discover local music talent and songwriters. While discussing different pronunciations and accents of nationalities with host Qian Yifeng and Taiwanese artist Jeff Chang, Mr Roy Li, a local singer-composer, demonstrated accents of Thais, Filipinos, Malays and Indians. Mr Li's mimicry was tongue in cheek and pointed to the different intonations and stylistics of each language.

We apologise if Mr Selvakumar took offence to the segment as it was not intended to be offensive in any way.
