I REFER to Ms Stephanie Kok Min Hui's letter last Friday, 'She signed up because school was accredited by Case'. Our withdrawal and refund policies are in accordance with Case guidelines which are in line with the industry practice of most reputable private education institutions.
The terms pertaining to withdrawals and refunds are stated in our course application and confirmation forms which were acknowledged by Ms Kok when she signed up. Besides the application form, the policies are mentioned in the course brochures and website. Ms Kok was also in the orientation session which explained these policies.
MDIS maintains transparency on withdrawal and refund policies in compliance with CaseTrust requirements and industry practices. The institute issues a student handbook as an added service. It contains rules and regulations, and academic guidelines pertaining to student matters during the course of study.
As the postgraduate programme is offered and awarded by an overseas accredited university, MDIS has a contractual financial commitment to the university to ensure payment for student enrolment. The institute understands Ms Kok's situation in juggling work and studies.
We have tried to contact Ms Kok to offer alternatives but to no avail. We would appreciate it if she could contact the senior manager of student services on 6796-7739.
Tan Gek Khim (Ms) Director MDIS
