Truck you see may not be the same
I THANK Mr Jeremy See Weilong for his letter last Friday, 'All that rubbish gone to waste', which highlighted his concern and efforts in segregating recyclable materials from household waste.

SembWaste is a strong supporter of the push to encourage Singaporeans to recycle. We assure Mr See and other readers that all recyclable materials collected by SembWaste staff for the sectors it serves are sent to our recycling facility.

The exception is where the recyclables are contaminated with non-recyclable or organic waste. In such cases, the contents of the bin are disposed of in line with the standard procedure for contaminated recyclables.

SembWaste operates separate trucks for the collection of residential waste and recyclable materials. However, both kinds of trucks are of the same model and paintwork, with the exception of one, and to a passing viewer it is not easy to tell them apart.

We wish to investigate Mr See's feedback and invite him to call our hotline on 1800-278-6135 or e-mail us at contactus@

sembenviro.com. Our hotline is always open to Mr See and other members of the public.
