Sorry, but it's hard for retailers too

I EMPATHISE with Mr Melvin Heng ('Act against shops insisting on CashCard 'minimum spend'; Feb 16) who could not pay by Nets or CashCard unless he bought at least $5 worth of goods at a shop.
Retailers like myself must bear a transaction charge imposed by Nets which is substantial if small purchases are allowed. Such purchases using Nets also inconvenience other customers. The solution: an explanatory note at the counter.
