Gym doesn't fit into new concept for Safra club
I REFER to Mr Francis Cheng Choon Fei's letter, 'Shocked by decision to close Safra Town Club gym' (Feb 12) and seek our members' understanding.

One key Safra initiative for the next five to seven years is to set up more distinctive micro-clubs to better cater to our members' needs. That is why the Safra Town Club will be turned into an e-gaming hub. The new concept makes co-opting a gym in the same building untenable.

We have offered affected members the option to continue using facilities at Safra Mount Faber, Toa Payoh, Tampines and Yishun. Affected members will also receive a complimentary three-month extension to their membership terms. Alternatively, a Town Club gym member can terminate his subscription and opt for a refund of the unused portion.
