Stanchart's 3-day promise falls short
I'M WRITING in response to the comment by Ms Ngo Min Ying of Standard Chartered Bank (Feb 11).

Ms Ngo stated that Standard Chartered Bank will usually resolve complaints within three working days. But this was not so in our case, as we waited for almost two months before we received our December 2007 credit card statement - after making multiple requests for it.

My husband has been holding a PruPrestige Card from the bank since November last year. When he did not receive his December statement, we called the bank repeatedly to request it.Whenever we made the request, we were simply told that the statement would be printed out and sent over to us.

It was only in our last call on Jan 24 that we were informed that there was a system bug in the bank's computer resulting in the delay of December statements for all PruPrestige customers.

Would Standard Chartered bank please provide an explanation on the above incident and tell us what kind of action it will take to prevent such delays from happening in future?

Chua Lee Peng (Ms)
