I WAS eating my breakfast at a food centre in Jurong East on Feb 9 when there was a sudden commotion.
A young Indian cleaning worker had collapsed due to epileptic fits.
In the twinkle of an eye, more than 10 people had rushed to his assistance.
While one turned him on his side to ensure he would not choke, others whipped out their phones, ready to call for help.
Others stood by offering advice on how to revive him or make him comfortable. Within 10 minutes, the ambulance had arrived. The medical orderlies attended to the victim who had, by then, regained consciousness.
It was a case of total strangers actively intervening spontaneously to help - a truly heartwarming experience that spoke volumes about the sincerity of ordinary Singaporeans.
