BUS CAPTAIN HELPED OLD WOMAN

I LIVE in the Serangoon Avenue 2 neighbourhood and on Wednesday at 10.30am, I saw an elderly woman desperately trying to attract the attention of a bus captain as she crossed the road to catch bus service 105 in the direction of Toa Payoh. I held her hand to take her across the road to the bus.

Seeing this, the bus captain, Mr Tan Bon Yam, actually got off his seat and came down to help the woman onto the bus, got her bus pass swiped and sat her down before moving off.

THANKS FOR RETURNING PHONE

I LOST my cellphone on Jan 29. I want to thank the bus driver and bus assistant from Global Indian International School (vehicle No. PA 4705 D) for their honesty in returning my cellphone, and taxi driver Bernard Cheong (SHC 4609 H) for his kind assistance and patience.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS FROM OCBC STAFF

ON JAN 30, I went to OCBC at Block 501 Bishan Street 11 to reactivate my ATM and savings account, a simple request but it caught the attention of the teller who attended to me that it was my birthday that day.

The teller asked me to wait while she processed my transaction. Soon after, she called my name, handed me a big Happy Birthday teddy bear and wished me Happy Birthday. Then her colleagues around her started to join in the birthday greetings.

This gesture took me by surprise and warmed my heart. Even customers' birthdays are not overlooked. Now that's what I consider customer service with a difference.
