I WORK with a voluntary welfare organisation that provides sheltered employment to the intellectually challenged and disabled. Many of these trainees travel on public transport to work, earning less than $160 monthly for their work at the sheltered workshops.
Many have siblings who are also intellectually disabled. Their parents are sometimes deceased or are not able to make ends meet.
Could the authorities please look into providing bus-fare concessions for these people, just like the ones provided for students and the elderly?
