WITH the excitement of September's F1 race looming, I have been checking the official F1 website on a regular basis. Although there is sparse race information, the site contains a fair amount of detail on Singapore hotels.
What surprised me was the exceptionally low ratings given to most of our hotels, the majority being listed in the two- to four-star category. Even the better establishments like the Swissotel, Hilton and Mandarin were tagged rather unfairly with a four-star rating. It did not help to see that some Bintan hotels were given equal or better ratings.
Lest such skewed information paints a dismal picture of our hospitality industry, the Singapore Hotel Association or Singapore GP Pte Ltd may wish to provide more accurate inputs to the operators of the F1 site.
