Install benches in checkpoint coach bay
AFTER reading the report, 'New benches for MRT stations' (ST, Dec 29), I would like to suggest that the authorities install benches at the Woodlands Checkpoint coach bay.

Coach passengers often have to wait for their drivers. But there are no seats for them and it can be very exhausting, especially after standing in long queues to clear immigration.

Yes, there are several makeshift seats in the form of cylinder-shaped red stoppers at the coach bay, but these are not only uncomfortable but also dangerous.

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority should consider installing the flat-top benches like those in MRT stations so that the passengers can have a safe and comfortable wait.
