ON THE evening of Jan 4, my colleague and I arrived home from overseas and proceeded to the Changi Airport Terminal 1 taxi stand.
The taxi coordinator directed us to a stand where a limousine taxi was available.
We declined the limousine taxi as we did not want such a luxurious mode of transport, nor to pay more than the rate for a normal taxi.
To our dismay, the taxi coordinator insisted we take it on a first come, first served basis.
Could the relevant authorities please clarify:
What would have been the outcome had we stood our ground and created an impasse?
Shouldn't passengers be given a choice of vehicles, given the different rates?
Shouldn't limousine taxis be allocated different bays so one can choose accordingly?
Shouldn't limousine taxis be confined to the limousine taxi counter in the arrival hall?
