I REFER to Mr Phil DiMusto's letter, 'Saved on postage but all 450 didn't get Xmas cards' (ST, Jan 7). We have since contacted Mr DiMusto to investigate the matter.
We wish to assure Mr DiMusto that we comply strictly with the standards for all outgoing international mail, that is, all mail collected will be processed and dispatched by the next working day for connection to the next available flight to the destination country.
In the case of the United States, mail is sent on a daily basis via different airlines to different cities. Our investigations further confirmed that all mail to the US collected on Dec 5 was processed accordingly.
We have recently also received feedback from other customers who had experienced similar delays for greeting cards to the US over this festive period. We are following up on these cases with the US Postal Service to assist us further in our investigations, and will keep affected customers, including Mr DiMusto, posted of the outcome.
We thank Mr DiMusto for his understanding in the meantime.
