TRAFFIC Police would like to assure Mr James Yip ('Do Singaporeans lose out in accidents with JB vehicles?'; ST, Oct 19) and Mr Tan Kai Ching ('Give Malaysian cars a wide berth'; ST, Oct 27) that we investigate all accidents involving foreign vehicles.
Foreigners are required to abide by our laws and regulations and are subject to the same punishments if they commit traffic offences in Singapore.
In Mr Yip's case, investigations were completed within two months and a letter was sent to him to inform him of the outcome. Police have since contacted him to further clarify the action taken against the driver of the Malaysian vehicle.
