PRINT EDITION LETTERS
ABOUT a month ago, we were told that our current stockpile of rice could last at least three months, and that Singaporeans need not rush to buy rice to stock up.
I AM glad that VivoCity is now working towards improving the service of the mall management, tenants and ancillary service providers as reported last Saturday ('A new GST: Greetings, Smiles and Thanks at VivoCity').
IN THIS age of the Internet, decision makers of government departments, statutory bodies and private corporations should not confine themselves to the usual sources for feedback on the performance of their departments and companies.
I WAS in the no-smoking section of McCafe in the East Coast Parkway McDonald's outlet last Monday morning, enjoying a cup of coffee. Behind me sat a foreigner with his dog. The man's wife had gone to the counter to place her order.
CPF JURONG EAST
FURTHER to Monday's article, 'Fewer maids choosing to work here', it is timely perhaps to examine how employers' interests should also be safeguarded.
I REFER to the letter 'Raise en bloc consent level to 99%' by Ms Susan Prior (April 19) .
I AM very proud that Singapore has achieved much and were chosen to host the Youth Olympics. But sadly, Singaporeans must travel to Kuala Lumpur to welcome the Olympic torch.
ONLINE LETTERS
I REFER to Mr Dennis Gordon de Souza's letter on Monday, 'Keep left on the longest travellator". If one has taken the MRT at stations such as Orchard, City Hall and Raffles Place, one would have noticed that there are signs at escalators advising commuters to keep left to allowing hurrying commuters to move quickly on the right.
WE REFER to the letter by Mr Ricky Yeo, president of Action for Singapore Dogs, 'Stray dogs rarely attack, or even approach, humans' (April 23).
I AM so disappointed with the services rendered by Case. As a consumer, I was told by Case to become a Case member so that they could act on my behalf to pursue my complaint against the vendor more effectively. So I paid $25 for membership fee and a $10 admin fee.
IT WAS a coincidence that on Earth Day, April 22, that I discovered that SP Services allows customers to view their utility bills online. My actual physical bill, also dated April 22, came two days later in an envelope.
I AM surprised to read Tuesday's letter, 'Expat Indians should help all races', by Mrs Padmimini Kesavapany who called on Indian expats here to go beyond racial barriers and be charitable to all races.
WE REFER to the above mentioned letter by Mr Koh Tat Koon (April 16). We apologise for the inconvenience caused to Mr Koh over the closure of his account.
