PRINT EDITION LETTERS
I REFER to Friday's letter, 'Tibet's current violence smells of a Western agenda'. Dr Ong Siew Chey suggests the Western media has been myopic in its reporting of the recent riots in Tibet by failing to appreciate China's role in ensuring Tibet's continued progress.
I WANT to reinforce the views of Dr Ong Siew Chey.
IN RESPONSE to Mr Ho Kong Loon's letter last Thursday, I would like to offer my views as a non- teacher.
I AM inspired to write this letter after reading Mr Lim Yee Hung's column, 'No geekiness please, we're Brits' in last Tuesday's Digital Life.
I REFER to Thursday's letter, 'He tails ambulances only to find...' in which Mr Ng Chong Huat questioned the propriety of ambulances going fast when not carrying a sick passenger.
LAST Wednesday, the same day The Straits Times carried a 'thumbs-up rating' for good service in Singapore, cable television ran a cooking programme featuring celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. Mr Oliver had travelled to an Italian town especially to cook Italian food for fastidious Italian gourmets.
I REFER to the letter by Mr John Ng, 'Jobs: Stop blaming foreigners' (April 5).
I REFER to Mr John Ng's letter.
I REFER to Mr John Ng's letter.
ONLINE LETTERS
I REFER to Mr Calvin Ng's letter of April 5.
I LIVE in Tampines where cyclists are allowed to cycle on pedestrian paths. As a pedestrian, I am concerned about safety if such a practice is allowed to continue. Walking home from dinner along Tampines Street 83 last Wednesday, I had two near misses.
I REFER to the reply, 'TV Mobile is mindful of sound levels on buses' (April 5).
I REFER to the letter, 'Put CCAs on par with academic subjects', by Mr John Huang Yinghui (April 4).
I REFER to last Monday's article, 'Unusual scholarship gives dropouts hope'.
