I REFER to the article, 'A woman as prime minister of Singapore?' (March 21).
I REFER to Ms Seah Su Chen's letter (March 24) on the Government's lack of criticism of China over its handling of the recent Tibetan unrest.
FIRST, the Tibetan unrest, unlike peaceful demonstrations by monks in Myanmar, was unruly, with mobs wielding knives, breaking windows and setting houses on fire. These acts prompted security forces to take action.

I SEEK clarification if there is a code of conduct covering private clubs (for example, golf, social and recreation clubs), as there is for charitable organisations.
OUR maid agency told us it would need two weeks to transfer our maid to a new employer.

RECENTLY, I went to a polyclinic and got a doctor to witness my advance medical directive (AMD). My friend, who was willing to be my witness, had to leave after waiting more than an hour to see the doctor.
IT IS no doubt easier to get a cab nowadays during peak hours, because you can see long queues of empty taxis and zero passengers. This has led some cabbies to take desperate measures, bordering on the dishonest. As passengers are hard to come by, especially during expensive peak hours, drivers intentionally take a longer route, hoping to stretch and make more out of what may be the only fare they'll pick up during this time.
