I WAS elated to learn of the Government's move to provide a 40 per cent fee subsidy for those who study for their first part-time undergraduate degree. This shows the Government's support for the thousands of people in the same situation as me - late bloomers who are not well off but are keen to improve ourselves.
IN HER letter, 'Restrict frequency of costly en bloc EGMs' (Feb 8), Madam Mona Liew Tan Lee suggested imposing a restriction on the frequency of extraordinary general meetings (EGMs) to consider a collective property sale.

I APPLAUD the police for their good work in apprehending the former mental patient who led them on a 90-minute chase in a stolen ice truck ('2 years' jail, therapy for mentally ill driver', Feb 22).
I RECEIVE at least one phone call a week from banks enticing me with waived credit card subscriptions. Despite my constant refusal and the number of times I have asked Singapore banks to remove my contact details from their calling list, I still receive calls - even from the same bank.
I PARTLY agree with Mr Heng Cho Choon in his letter, 'Don't make Jurong Lake another white elephant' (Feb 25). We should ensure the lake does not end up like Tang Dynasty City. But I disagree with his view about the lack of traffic at Chinese Garden or Jurong Lake.
WE REFER to the letter, 'Town councils should be more involved in recycling effort' by Mr Phillip Ang Keng Hong (Feb 12).
I REFER to the letter, 'Problem of annuity paid on irregular dates' by Mr Paul Walter Wong (Feb 25).
I REFER to the letter, 'Still no sign of vouchers' by Ms Sharon Tan-Chew Lay Hwa (Feb 22).
