PRINT EDITION LETTERS

IN JUNE last year, I took in a maid from India from a maid agency. One day in October, she told me her leg was numb and getting worse with each day. She confessed she had had a stroke back home and wanted to go back to recuperate.
I GOT a new maid two weeks ago from a maid agency. From Jan 1, employers must pay maid insurance which ranges from $192 to almost $300. Before Jan 1, employers did not need to pay this as it was included in the agency fee.

I REFER to the letter, 'Why young motorcyclists die on the roads' (ST, Jan 30).
I REFER to the report, 'Crane collides with gantry, sending sign crashing onto taxi' (ST, Jan 29).
I REFER to the letter, ''Adopt' a poor child and pay for his daily meals' (ST, Jan26), by Mr Ronald Lee Yew Kee. The writer suggested that Singaporeans be encouraged to 'adopt' a poor child for a period by paying for his daily meals and that such a scheme come under the ambit of the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports.
I REFER to the letter, 'SMS query on ringtone cost her $12' by Madam Amy Koh (ST, Jan 19). We understand the premium rate service provider has already contacted her to address her concerns.
I AM writing to suggest a way to ease congestion at Tanjong Pagar MRT station, particularly around 8am.

NECESSITY is the mother of invention, as the old adage goes.
I WOULD like to highlight some unpleasant experiences with housing agents in Singapore and, hopefully, I might find someone who shares the same problem as I do.

I REFER to the letter calling for a more visible Traffic Police presence on our roads (ST, Jan 30).
ON WEDNESDAY as I was taking the train, a young wheelchair-bound man boarded the train.
ON WEDNESDAY, at around 7.35pm, I waited for service 51 at a bus stop in Sims Ave, outside an old community centre.
THE Central Depository sends out a lot of correspondence to share investors, among them a 'Confirmation Note'.
THE Singapore Flyer is most impressive and definitely an additional tourist attraction for Singapore.
TRY as I might, I could not understand the remarks by Tampines Rovers team manager Syed Faruk that Alam Shah's worldwide ban is 'too harsh'.
