PRINT EDITION LETTERS
I COULDN'T agree more with the letter, 'Older workers doing same tasks for less pay' (ST, Jan 15).
I AGREE fully with the writer of the letter, 'Maid in baby's accidental death not blameless' (ST, Jan 16), that the maid was indeed negligent in not informing her employers of the incident in a timely manner. A life could have been saved.
WITH the excitement of September's F1 race looming, I have been checking the official F1 website on a regular basis. Although there is sparse race information, the site contains a fair amount of detail on Singapore hotels.
I REFER to the letter, 'Check expiry date of dog licence' (ST, Jan 16).
SINCE the taxi-fare hike, there has been a surge in train ridership. This is evident during the evening peak hours at City Hall Station Interchange where commuters are packed like sardines, even in the last cabin.
I REFER to Mr Edward Kee Liang's letter, 'Passengers at airport made to take limousine taxi' (ST, Jan 12).
I PLAN to instal a second residential telephone line. Thus I was surprised to find out from SingTel that I am unable to get a new telephone number. There is none available.
MY DAUGHTER was invited to receive the Merit Bursary Award recently, for her good academic performance. I accompanied her to the Sengkang Community Club with the expectation of an exciting ceremony but found it a listless, tame affair.
ONLINE LETTERS
THE global stock markets have corrected significantly since the beginning of the year. So is it time to jump in now?
I REFER to Mr Ben Leong Wing Lup's letter, 'Maid in baby's accidental death not blameless' (ST, Jan 16), and fully agree with his viewpoint that the maid had an obligation to bring the incident of the blow to the child's head to her employer's attention in a timely manner.
THE actual price increase of food items seems to be much more than the official 4.2 per cent hike in November.
I WATCHED the Sheng Siong Show on Jan 5 and was very disappointed with the standard of English used by Kym Ng and her co-host.
TWO days ago, I witnessed a frightful incident at Sun Plaza in Sembawang.
I READ with interest the report, 'Citroen says sorry over scowling Mao ad' (ST, Jan 16).
I REFER to the letter, 'SMRT replies on bikes and dirty buses' (ST, Dec 25).
I HAD purchased a bottle of concentrated Bird's nest with reduced sugar from the Eu Yan Sang outlet at Paragon Shopping Centre.
I WISH to know how long it takes for SingTel to activate a residential phone line.
