PRINT EDITION LETTERS
A FEW days ago, there was an article on the plan to set up specialised sports training centres for 11-year-olds.
I WAS at Singapore Post Serangoon Central branch on Dec 29 to collect a registered article. As it was a Saturday, there was, as expected, a long, snaking queue. Since I was there to collect an item, I did not join the queue and proceeded to one of the side counters as I had done previously to be attended to. However, to my dismay, I was told by the staff at the counter that I had to join the queue.
POLICE would like to inform Mr Khor Teck Khim ('Better crowd control needed at Marina Bay'; ST, Jan 4) that appropriate crowd and traffic control measures were in place during the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown event.
I WAS tickled by Mr Alfred Loo's account ('Guard at POSB sent maid to back of queue'; ST, Jan 5). It seems we now have yet another use for maids - to be our personal proxies in queues so we can attend to other things without losing our place in a line.
I REFER to the article, 'Cabby opts for jail before heart treatment' (ST, Jan 4).
I AM writing to seek recourse in an incident that occurred last year.
I REFER to the letter, 'Swab tests: Are they done in food centres?', by Mr Ang Chin Guan (ST, Dec 29).
I REFER to the letter, 'Why MRT sign not in Malay?' (ST, Dec 29), by Mr S. Kulaveerasingham.
ONLINE LETTERS
WITH an ageing population, it is commendable that the Building and Construction Authority's (BCA) strategic goal is to champion the promotion of Universal Design ((UD) principles so that more built environment of stakeholders can achieve a high level of accessibility for people of all ages and abilities.
I REFER to the letter, 'Better crowd control needed at Marina Bay' (ST Forum, Jan 4).
IN THE light of an increasing number of deaths related to strenuous physical exercises, forum writer Rick Lim Say Kiong ('Modify 2.4km IPPT run to ease strain on heart'; ST Forum, Jan 7) has the innovative proposition of testing physical endurance with a longer run at a slower pace for the annual Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT).
I REFER to Mr Rick Lim Say Kiong's suggestion in the letter, 'Modify 2.4km IPPT run to ease strain on heart' (ST Forum, Jan 7).
I SIGNED up with the mio plan (broadband and landline) when it was first introduced. But right from the start, I experienced problems as the line got disconnected after 10 minutes of talk.
THE total duration of calls logged on my mobile phone has never tallied with that on the bills sent to me by SingTel.
