SingPost clarifies distribution of admail
WE REFER to Mr Leo Chin Kwang's online letter on Thursday, 'Opt out to stop junk mail from SingPost?'

We wish to share with Mr Leo and all readers that as a mail service provider, SingPost is obligated to deliver all mail, addressed and unaddressed, as instructed by the senders. These include all government non-addressed mail and commercial mail that meet our standards and criteria, which exclude all photocopied and black and white flyers and must be of a certain minimum size. We also wish to highlight that admail delivery is a service provided by postal service providers worldwide.

We understand that government agencies find this an effective channel to reach out to the populace, for example, the distribution of the dengue fever prevention booklet. As for businesses, especially small ones, admail is often viewed as a cost-effective and valuable medium to reach out to potential customers. We have also received feedback that these admail are appreciated as they offer interesting promotions and valuable information on various products to recipients

We have made it flexible for those who do not wish to receive unaddressed admail to opt out, either through our hotline 68456210 or e-mail singpost@singpost.com. We wish to apologise to Mr Leo for any inconvenience caused.
