WE BOOKED JetStar tickets to Zhuhai via a tour agency and it cost us $298 per person including two nights' stay. We discovered that the name of one of our friends, a Singaporean PR, given to the tour agency was different from her name in her passport.
We called up the tour agency to make the change and was told that it would cost us $120 for a name change. We were appalled. We are not swopping passengers, just correcting the name mistake - the passport number remains unchanged.
We can understand if the airline charges a nominal administrative fee but slapping $120 is just exorbitant. It is more than 40 per cent of the cost of the air ticket. It leads us to wonder whether budget airlines really give value for money.
