The Sri Lankan High Commission has made a good move by issuing a press statement on unscrupulous maid agents. It is heartening to note that it plans to take the message to villages as well.

It would be helpful if others like its Indian and Bangladeshi counterparts took similar action. Publicising the actions of such agents on television in these countries would take the news to every nook and cranny.
