ON MARCH 14, my friends and I ordered food from McDonald's to be delivered to our place in Dundee Road behind Queenstown MRT station. The staff told us that it would take about 45 to 50 minutes.
After almost an hour, the Serangoon branch called us to say that they had the wrong address and would contact the branch closest to us. After more than one-and-a-half hours, we called them back to find out the reason for the late delivery. The person who took our call was impolite, and hung up without giving us an answer. Finally, after two hours from the time we ordered, the food finally arrived. We were expecting an apology and, maybe, some complimentary stuff such as free apple pies. However, there was none and the delivery person was also rude.
I understand that consumers have the right to reject the order if delivery takes more than an hour. But by the time the food arrived, we were all too famished to reject it. I had provided feedback to McDonald's but I have yet to get a reply.
