Bad attitude by spectacles shop salesman
MY FAMILY and I have been in Singapore since the 1990s and have enjoyed our stay here and we decided to become citizens in the year 2000.

Never had we such a bad experience than the one I am quoting below, that too from a reputable shop.

We made a frameless glass for my 10-year-old son from Spectacle Hut, West Mall, on Jan 19, for which we paid $200.

The salesman did specify that the plastic lens was quite delicate and was recommending a more expensive one.

Based on our experience of wearing similar frames (my elder son and myself), I did not go for the expensive option.

On Jan 23, we collected the glasses and in less than 15 days (Feb 5), the lens broke in two.

When my wife visited the shop, the salesman did not even want to listen to her, and kept saying that we had already been forewarned.

My wife has returned the frame to the shop which they accepted without a word. Frankly, we were not expecting them to refund our money, but at least they could have been a bit more sympathetic.

Should these kind of products ever be sold in the first place? I am appalled by the attitude shown. If I were a visitor here, I am sure to walk away with a negative impression of this place.
