I AM writing in as a frustrated member ever since Treasure Resort has taken over Sijori Resort on Sentosa and will like to highlight the situation that the members are facing.
As a member, I have monthly payments to make and I am supposed to be entitled to use certain facilities within the resort.
However, when I last called the resort in November 2007, trying to book a room using the complimentary vouchers issued to members for 2007 (expiring end-December), I was told that I could not book any room until further notice.
In the first place, there isn't any formal notice sent out to its members that such a restriction has been placed on them. I made another call to the general enquiries hotline, asking why the management had chosen to avoid its members on this issue. No answer was given except that by mid-December, it will be sending out a notification to all members.
Throughout these two months, there was no update from the management and I decided to call again last week.
This time round, I was directed to the customer service department which is in charge of memberships.
In its reply through e-mail, it sought my patience and understanding and that the matter would be resolved soon.
How long more should the members wait? During this period, it is still asking members for their monthly payments. By claiming that it is having legal disputes with the former resort management, is it allowed to place restrictions on members without notifying them?
